Since 1999 Bernreuter has been following the development of the solar industry: At first he worked as an associate editor at the German trade journal Photon for five years. There he covered the topics market development, research and technology as well as energy politics. In the fall of 2004, Bernreuter started as a free-lance author and analyst, specializing in thin-film technology and polysilicon production.
