The top 10 posts from Bernreuter Research on LinkedIn in 2025
The Polysilicon Market Outlook 2029, Hanwha’s corporate raid of REC Silicon and the accident at OCI’s plant in Malaysia are the top themes among the posts from Bernreuter Research on LinkedIn in 2025.
PDF downloads always reach high click-through rates on LinkedIn. It was no different with the report brochure about the new Polysilicon Market Outlook 2029 from Bernreuter Research: The post received the most clicks, reactions, comments and reposts in sum and thus is the number one among the top ten posts from Bernreuter Research on LinkedIn in 2025.
As in 2024, we have ranked our most popular posts on LinkedIn by the absolute amount of engagement (the sum of clicks, reactions, comments and reposts); we have also included the scope of engagement with the commenting repost of the respective topic by company head Johannes Bernreuter.
Record number of impressions for the saga between Hanwha and REC Silicon
Both the second and fourth places have been occupied by posts on the dubious methods of the South Korean conglomerate Hanwha to gain a majority share in U.S.-based silane and polysilicon manufacturer REC Silicon at a very low price.
The first of the two posts was already published on December 31, 2024, but has been included in the 2025 ranking as the majority of reactions came in this year. In fact, the post by Johannes Bernreuter reached almost 20,000 impressions, the highest number we have ever registered; however, the engagement rate (ratio of absolute amount of engagement to the number of impressions) was only slightly above average so that the post missed the number one position narrowly.
For the third most popular post, a PDF download on the world’s top ten polysilicon manufacturers, it was vice versa: A relative low number of impressions was compensated for by a very high click-through rate.
High interest in the “12N” purity claim for semiconductor-grade polysilicon
Number five and eight in our ranking are two analyses of the severe accident that occurred at OCI’s polysilicon plant in Malaysia in August 2024. It cost two workers their lives and injured another eight.
A demystification of the “12N” purity claim for semiconductor-grade polysilicon has come in on the sixth place, thanks to almost 11,000 impressions, but with an average engagement rate.
Always popular are our analyses of the quarterly EBITDA results achieved by the polysilicon manufacturers Daqo New Energy, Wacker and OCI. Two of these articles landed among the top ten posts (No. 7 and 9).
The English translation of a critical Chinese analysis that questions the planned polysilicon industry fund to acquire excess production capacity is number 10 in our ranking.
